VATSIM, the major online flight sim network has recently announced an update to its user policy. Effective from January 1st 2026, the new minimum age for users is being raised to 16, aiming to “enhance the overall experience” for the community.
Fortunately for users between 13 to 15 years old, they will not be impacted by this change so long as they have signed up prior to January 1st 2026. Any sign ups from then on will be required to be at least 16 years old at the time of registration.
Via a post on their forums, they state –
We believe this change will enhance the overall experience for our community while maintaining a focus on safety and maturity throughout our network.
